The 6th International PalaeoArc Conference (on ‘Processes and Palaeo-environmental changes in the Arctic: from Past to Present’) will be held at UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø from 2 to 5 June 2025. PalaeoArc is an international research network aiming to better understand climatically induced environmental changes in the Arctic from the Quaternary to present. The conference has over 80 registered participants from 15 IASC member countries and we look forward to an interesting scientific program with 28 oral presentations and 31 posters. Approximately half of the conference participants are Early Career Scientists or students.

In gathering Arctic scientists working on diverse marine, terrestrial, and cryospheric topics, the conference will facilitate the creation and exchange of knowledge within Arctic climate change, promote new collaborative relationships, foster the next generation of polar science leaders, and stimulate discussions around the direction and remit of the network over the next 5 years. The optional mid-conference excursion will expose the participants to the spectacular north Norwegian fjord and alpine landscape and provide an informal setting for networking and scientific discussions.

Thanks to the generous support from the IASC Cryosphere and Marine Working Groups, we have been able to include the mid-conference excursion and to lower the registration fee for active participants, as well as include the conference dinner and offer free accommodation (18 rooms, on a first-come, first-served basis) to PhD candidates and students.

More information about the conference, including the program and abstract book, is available on the PalaeoArc2025 website.
